click to enlarge From 50 to over 100 years ago, calligraphers practiced their art in Japan on handmade rice paper. When they were done, the paper was reused as backing on painted Japanese screens. When these screens get remounted or repaired, this paper must be taken off. I re-use it a third time by creating papier-mache works with it.
