The role of plastics
in our daily lives is substantially under recognized. Unfortunately, life
presents many more pressing experiences that consume our time and we lose
sight of the not-so immediate consequences of our actions. I find influence
in the lack of social concern regarding the excessive global consumption
of this primarily petroleum based material. My sculptural work is an attempt
to raise consciousness regarding the manufacture, consumption, and disposal
of plastics.
