click to enlarge I started collecting flattened cans in January 2005 with no clear idea of what to do with them. In March, I constructed the first temporary can spiral, which consisted of 163 cans. The second, built in June, contained 439. This is the third and largest to date. If you stand close to the spiral, you might notice a curving of your vision at the periphery. Through this optical effect, the piece literally changes the way one sees.
