The RE Store makes a daily effort to accept as much reusable building materials as possible. We are limited, however, by available storage space, customer demand, and the environmental hazards posed by certain materials. The Seattle RE Store is currently NOT accepting the following:

This list is subject to revisions and exceptions at any time.
The RE Store in Seattle is currently NOT accepting the following:
* Appliances older than five years or missing parts
* Florescent lights, can lights, or track lighting
* Open bags of cement, mortar, drywall compound, grout, etc.
* Paint
* Electric or gas baseboard heaters
* Mini-blinds
* Used carpeting
* Cabinets with missing drawers or doors. Melamine or laminate cabinets
* Ceiling Fans
* Commercial ducting or vent covers
* Commercial Flashing
* Commercial Shelving
* Room Dividers or other commercial office equipment
* Counter-tops with "L" shapes or in dated colors
* Hollow-core doors.
* Aluminum screen doors or storm doors
* Fireplace doors or inserts
* Large pieces of loose glass or mirror
* High-flow toilets
* Sinks in cultured marble or outdated colors
* Shower Doors
* Tile with heavy grout
* Windows that are: aluminum, single paned wood larger than 4' x 4', thermal pane without a frame, storm windows, or double hung in complete frame
* Lumber or trim that is shorter than 6', rotten, damaged, heavily painted, or with nails.
* Treated Lumber, unless new and still tagged with ACQ sticker
* Fiberglass insulation no longer in packaging
* Old thermostats, light switches, or any item containing mercury
In addition to the items listed here, other materials may occasionally or permanently be refused by The RE Store as the needs of our customers and our organization change. Thank you for your understanding and your support.
