Are you wondering how to promote your business while contributing to the growing zero waste movement? Consider sponsoring The RE Store’s 9th Annual Recycled Art & Trash Fashion Show, the largest and best publicized green art happening in Washington State. This show challenges professional and amateur designers and artists to craft fashion and mixed media artworks from landfill-bound materials. The results are beautiful and thought-provoking. Juried art pieces are then displayed during the month of April in both Seattle and Bellingham. Two “Trash Fashion Shows” will feature the work of Northwest designers in a catwalk-style fashion show. Recycled Art workshops will give people of all ages an opportunity to make art with professional artists.

The 2009 show was a landslide success and 2010 will build on our prior successes. In 2009, The RE Store partnered with five other arts organizations including the Museum of Northwest Art (La Conner), Western Washington University (W.W.U.), Allied Art of Whatcom County, Blowing Sands gallery (Seattle), Haute Trash Fashion Show, and the City of Bellingham (Municipal Arts grant) to deliver an amazing show in three cities. Highlights included:

1,360 people in three cities participated in gallery opening events, hands-on workshops, and two Trash Fashion Shows
a full front page photo and full page color spread in the Bellingham Herald's Entertainment section of the May 24, 2009 Sunday issue.
Coverage in twelve print publications and buzz on blogs and social websites
300 attendees at sold-out fashion show at Ballard’s New York Fashion Academy
Show website received 540-705 unique visitors each day during the month of April
