Overview
The RE Store has been showcasing art and design work created from reclaimed and salvaged materials for over a decade. We are honored to partner with galleries, educational and non-profit organizations and creatives from throughout the Pacific Northwest. Come be inspired and participate in our 11th Annual Show in April of 2012.
- Galleries of art and functional design items
- The Seattle galleries will be located at Blowing Sands Glass Studio in Ballard.
- Bellingham galleries will be located at Allied Arts and The RE Store.
- Workshop for Recycled Art junk sculpture all month at the Whatcom Museum's Family Interactive Gallery (F.I.G.)
The RE Store's Trash Fashion Show will not be taking place in 2012, due to budgetary constraints, but it sure was fun for all those years! See photos of past Trash Fashion Shows here: 2011 Trash Fashion Show and 2006-2010 Trash Fashion Shows
Calls for Art and Functional Designs
Four different submission opportunities
We are accepting art and functional design submissions for the April 2012 gallery shows in Seattle and Bellingham until March 2, 2012. See the separate calls for art submissions or functional designs for our galleries in Seattle or Bellingham. Each gallery and category requires a separate application:
• Seattle Call for Recycled Art and Functional Design
• Bellingham Call for Recycled Art and Functional Design
SUBMISSIONS ARE DUE MARCH 2 via our online forms. We prefer online submissions but printed submissions are welcomed, postmarked no later than March 2. There is a $10 fee per application which includes up to three (3) works with a combination of art and functional designs.
*There are two (2) different applications for the different galleries. PLEASE READ CAREFULLY AND PROPERLY COMPLETE THE FORMS

Recycled Junk Sculpture in the Whatcom Museum's Family Interactive Gallery (FIG)
The Whatcom Museum will be joining us again as the FIG studio celebrates recycled art. As a part of the celebration of The RE Store’s 11th Annual Recycled Arts & Fashion Show, come create your own works of art out of cast-off objects with junk and tools supplied by The RE Store!
Litter Becomes Art - April 1st in Bellingham, April 7th in Seattle
Kuros Zahedi will be joining us again, in partnership with the North Sound Bay Keeper for the Bellingham clean-up. Tentative location is Locust Beach, the tip of the wind funnel in Bellingham Bay and home to the greatest amount of wind-blown litter. In Seattle, we are teaming up with Puget Soundkeeper to do a clean-up on a Ballard Beach. Subscribe to our exciting monthly update to keep in touch with the details.
