Open Position: The RE Store Pickup Crew - Seattle

The RE Store is a program of RE Sources. Our mission is to promote sustainable
communities through recycling, education, advocacy and the conservation of natural
resources.
The primary goal of The RE Store is to divert as much reusable material as possible
from the landfill. As a member of The RE Store Field Crew, you serve as a
representative of RE Sources and The RE Store. You are responsible for following
the mission and serving customers.

Responsibilities:
a. Arrive to work on time, ready to work, wearing appropriate attire.
b. Follow employee safety responsibilities and job site safety plan.
c. Follow pickup and delivery procedures to safely load and transport materials
from the job site to the store, or vice versa, in a way that preserves the
material in good condition and can be unloaded easily and safely.
d. If time permits between pickups or deliveries, assist store staff in moving
materials into the store.
e. Attend monthly staff meetings.
f. Occasionally work on deconstruction sites.
g. Other tasks as directed by Field Manager.

Required Qualifications:
a. Valid first aid certificate or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire
b. Valid Washington State driver’s license

Desired Qualifications (but not necessary):
a. Previous experience in delivery or moving work.
b. Knowledge of the value and uses of a wide range of building materials.
c. Understanding of local business community and local reuse/recycling
programs.
d. Ability to interact and communicate well with the public.
e. Working knowledge of basic hand and power tools, and how to use them
safely.
f. Knowledge of tie-down knots and use of cargo straps.
g. Ability to work 40 hours per week.
h. Ability to lift 100 lbs.
i. Ability to occasionally work out of town.
j. Ability to drive light trucks and trailers.
k. Commitment to the goals of The RE Store.

Compensation: – Starting Wage: $12.00 per hour. The compensation package
includes health benefits (medical, dental and vision) and a competitive paid time off
package.
Accountability: Reports to Field Manager
