Building a solar-powered fruit dryer

Tom Brenton presents the nuts and bolts of how to build a solar-powered fruit dryer. In 3 hours, walk away with the know-how, plans and materials list to build your own food preservation station. One lucky workshop participant will take home the dryer built in the workshop!

Tom Brenton is a passive solar builder, designer and building science educator. He is also a board member of the Bellingham chapter of Solar Washington. This workshop takes place in partnership with the Bellingham Gleaning Network and Solar Washington.

An Intelligent Introduction to Solar Electric Energy
Thursday, Oct. 7: 6:30 - 8:30 pm

Cost: $10.00

Learn the basics of solar electricity - how it works in your home with no batteries or rewiring and why it works in the Northwest. Finances and the multiple State and Federal incentives will also be covered. Despite common misconceptions, batteries and rewiring are not necessary to utilize solar electricity.

Dana Brandt of Ecotech Energy Systems has been designing and installing systems since 2003 and is an experienced presenter .
